China has made strides in promoting connectivity of Eurasian cities within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese Ministry of Transport said on Thursday at its working conference.


So far China-Europe Railway Express links 110 Eurasian cities since the debut of its service in 2011, which is considered a significant part of the Belt and Road Initiative and is expected to boost trade between China and Europe.

A total of 18,000 China-Europe freight trains have departed from China to Europe in 2019, surpassing the number of 6,300 in 2018.

So far China-Europe Railway Express links 110 Eurasian cities since the debut of its service in 2011, which is considered a significant part of the Belt and Road Initiative and is expected to boost trade between China and Europe.

Moreover, smooth progress has also been made in the construction of railway projects this year.

A total of 18,000 China-Europe freight trains have departed from China to Europe in 2019, surpassing the number of 6,300 in 2018.

The China-Russian Tongjiang-Nizhneleninskoye railway bridge was completed, while China-Russia cross-border highway bridge starting from Heihe City, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province has also been accomplished.

To further boost cultural and people-to-people exchange, airlines from China and participating countries of the Belt and Road Initiative have launched 409 routes. (BRNA)
