The bare-faced beauty explained that a good quality cleanser and moisturiser are essential for prepping the epidermis before makeup is applied.
“I use balm, I use oil, I try to put as much hydration into my skin,” she explained. “You want to infuse your skin as much as you can.”
In her demonstration, The US-based aesthetician starts working an SPF 50+ into her skin before proceeding with a make-up brush to start her facelift.
She emphasized several times throughout her clip that moisturising the skin was essential for achieving a lighter and dewy complexion.
Elsewhere in the video, she noted: “I’m lightening up my skin. That is what’s so important to give you that facelift – not just use concealer and think, ‘Why’s it not covering? Why does it look so grey? Why does it look so dark?’
“Colour corrector over 40 is going to be your best friend,” she continued. “It’s going to completely and dramatically change your skin and you will see it when you start using it.”
To further enhance the skin, Johnson opts for an eyeshadow primer, as this will ensure a natural look when eyeshadow is applied to the eyes.
Johnson again stressed that the primer was a key element to achieve the facelift look as it tones of the eyelids and helps any additional product blend in effortlessly.
