Labor Day isn’t just about the last cookout or beach day of summer — it’s also one of the biggest shopping holidays of the year. Right now, retailers like Amazon, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Mattress Firm and REI are offering deep discounts across home goods, fashion, tech, beauty and more. These Labor Day sales are some of the best prices you’ll find until Black Friday, and they might be your last chance to shop products at their pre-tariff prices. So if you have your eye on something, be sure to checkout before midnight — most prices go back up tomorrow.

I’ve covered sale events at NBC Select for over five years (check out some of my favorite products here), so I know a good discount when I see one. This option from Carhartt has a large main compartment with a 15-inch laptop sleeve, and there’s an additional zippered compartment on the front with a built-in internal organization system and a key leash. The backpack is made from water-resistant material, according to the brand. It also has two side pockets for water bottles or umbrellas, and padded shoulder straps.

Any screen can be a streaming hub with the Fire TV Stick 4K. It plugs into an HDMI port and gives you access to movies, shows, music and even gaming across platforms. The Fire TV stick comes with an Alexa-enabled remote so you can search with voice commands.

I keep this 24-ounce stainless steel tumbler on my desk and at home to encourage me to stay hydrated. It has a large handle for carrying and a flexible silicone straw. The dishwasher-safe water bottle also fits in most car cupholders.

These are my all-time favorite jean shorts. They’re fitted on the top so they hug my hips and waist, and looser toward the bottom, which gives them a relaxed look and comfortable feel. The denim gets softer every time I wear these Levi’s, which hit just below my mid-thigh area (I’m 5 feet and 2 inches tall). These little water- and dust-resistant trackers can help you find your keys, wallet, bag, suitcase and other items via Apple’s Find My app, which shows you it’s exact location on a map. The app also lets you play a sound on the AirTag’s built-in speaker and use a Precision Finding feature to guide you toward your missing item. Each tracker comes with a pre-installed battery that’s replaceable and lasts over a year, according to the brand.

Weighing less than a pound, this nylon hammock is ideal for camping, hiking or lounging in the park; I carried mine in my backpack to use on my college campus. It packs down into an attached stuff sack and comes with 9-foot straps and carabiners for quick setup. Despite being lightweight, it supports up to 400 pounds and is machine-washable.

La Sportiva sneakers are one of the “it” shoes this year, and while this pair is designed for trail running, you can pair them with jeans and a T-shirt, too. They have a sock-like fit with breathable mesh uppers, sticky rubber soles for rugged terrain and a weather-resistant lining to keep feet dry. They run small, so we recommend ordering a half size up.

We love its matte finish and the built-in cord system, which keeps bags and outlets clutter-free.
